My name is Howard Bono and I started Old West Mortgage in October of 1994 with the intention of making it easier for people to get a mortgage. What I found is that most mortgage companies are very institutional in nature and not much fun to work with. They view their clients as revenue or a unit instead of a neighbor and a friend.
You can tell this by the names they use, most mortgage companies are named first this or mutual that or named after the owner. I decided to express our differences from the traditional companies with our name.
I think you will agree that Old West Mortgage is an uncommon name for a company that you will share your private financial information with. Well we are uncommon. We just do it better.
I chose the name Old West Mortgage partially because I ride horses (and Harleys) and I love the spirit of the Old West. The people that settled the west had values that were important to them. They valued their friends and neighbors and their word was something you could always count on.
That is exactly what you will get with us.
